Twisty Town does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information from children or adults. There are no analytics trackers and no advertising pixels on this site.

COPPA Compliance

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires websites directed at children under 13 to obtain parental consent before collecting personal information. Since Twisty Town collects zero personal information, there is nothing that requires parental consent.

What this means in practice

• No third-party tracking of any kind
• No names, emails, or identifying information requested
• No cookies used for tracking
• No third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, nothing)
• No advertising of any kind
• Student stories stay on the device

FERPA Compliance

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of student education records. Since Twisty Town does not collect, store, or have access to any student records, FERPA obligations do not apply. No student data ever leaves the device.

Safe for school use

• No student records created or maintained
• Student work stays on the device
• No integration with school systems or student databases
• Teachers can deploy via a simple URL with no setup

How the Storyspinner Remembers Your Grade

The Storyspinner uses your browser's sessionStorage to remember which grade door you picked. This is a temporary, device-only setting that:

• Lives only on your device, never sent anywhere
• Disappears when you close the browser tab
• Contains only the grade selection (a single number) and a greeting flag
• Cannot identify any person

What We Don't Do

• Sell or share any data (we have none to sell)
• Use advertising or sponsored content
• Track browsing behavior across sites
• Use AI to analyze children's writing
• Store stories on any server (stories only exist on the child's device)
• Embed social media tracking widgets
